Pacific Islands Summit to be held in Washington

The meeting is scheduled to take place over two days, on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 September. There are two main topics on the agenda. The first is the environment with the fight against climate change and the energy transition. There will also be meetings on ocean management and the fight against illegal fishing.

Strategic relations

The US president will attend meetings on the second major theme of the summit. This is the strategic relationship between the US and the Pacific states. The summit will close with a family photo and an official dinner at the White House. Edouard Fritch will be accompanied by Manuel Terai, Director of DAIEP (the Directorate of International, European and Pacific Affairs) and Thierry Catteau, Head of the European Affairs Office, responsible for European and Pacific Affairs.
