The hut of the Customary Senate burned down
The large hut of the Customary Senate was once again set on fire on Saturday 5 November at around 11pm. When the three trucks and fifteen firemen arrived, the fire had already destroyed almost everything. There were no casualties or other damage to the site.
The hut of the Customary Senate had already been reduced to ashes in August 2020 during an arson attack, caused by an alcoholic young man. He was given an 18-month suspended prison sentence.
An investigation has been opened. It will determine whether this is a simple criminal case or whether there are other motives. The customary senators are indeed very divided.
