Five years after the connection of Wallis and Futuna to the very high speed with the Tuisamoa cable, the work of deployment of the optical fibre ended this Wednesday in Wallis.
The project, which was delayed for more than a year due to the health crisis, has allowed the deployment of 9 kilometres of fibre in the whole South district with a connection in Mata-utu. The Wallis and Futuna radio and television station La 1ère will be the first client in the district to be connected to the fibre by the end of September.
In order for the connection to reach all homes, the media outlet points out, other installations such as specific boxes are still needed. For Futuna, the deployment is being completed in the kingdom of Alo.
