The inter-island airline made two inaugural flights to Bora Bora on 8 February. The aim was to make itself known to tour operators and the media, but not only. These flights were also a dress rehearsal before the company’s first commercial flight on Monday 13 February. The plane is new and the crews have just finished their training. A second plane is expected to arrive in March.
Air Moana is not only a new domestic airline. It is also a competitor for Air Tahiti. Air Moana is breaking a monopoly. The competition could be even stronger in the coming months as another company (Motu Link) could arrive in the Polynesian sky.
