The New Caledonian government and the Red Cross, in conjunction with the French government, have sent humanitarian aid to Papua New Guinea following the eruption of the Bagana volcano in July.
200 kitchen kits, 300 hygiene kits, 60 tents, 4 cubitainers containing 1,000 litres of water and 15 tonnes of rice were all on board the military vessel Vendémiairea.
- Riots: curfew until July 1The curfew is maintained in New Caledonia for a further week, from 8 pm to 6 am. Carrying and transporting weapons remains prohibited. The sale of alcohol also remains prohibited, except for wine merchants, who may only sell wine or champagne-type beverages with an alcohol content not exceeding 18%. Beer sales are still not permitted.
