The French prime minister Jean Castex received Édouard Fritch, president of French Polynesia, at the Matignon hotel, in Paris, on Saturday, October 3.
Mr Fritch was accompanied by Gaston Tong Sang, the president of the Assembly of French Polynesia, in the presence of the minister of Overseas Territories, Sébastien Lecornu.
During the meeting, the political leaders mainly discussed the health-solidarity agreement, the development and transformation contract and the recovery plan concerning Tahiti.

“There were also talks about state support via the recovery plan, which we implemented in French Polynesia,” said the head of the Polynesian executive, quoted by Outremers 360. “The concern of French Polynesia is that we will be part of the Metropolitan Recovery Plan,” he added.
Polynesia, New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna, as overseas communities, are not concerned by the national recovery plan, dedicated to overseas departments and regions.Macron in Tahiti
Sébastien Lecornu also confirmed the visit of president Macron in French Polynesia before the end of his five-year term in 2022: This trip will help to properly update all the projects we have in common, the minister of Overseas Territories said. Among the majors challenges, Lecornu pointed out the airline issue, because “without an airline company, there is no tourism,” he added.
