148 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed on Friday 10 September. The total number of cases is 265. This means that the number of cases is increasing sharply from one day to the next.

4 patients are in intensive care, 26 are hospitalised in the Covid unit and 8 people are in isolation under medical supervision in requisitioned hotels.

Yannick Slamet, member of the government in charge of health, explained in his press conference that the confinement could well be extended. Planned for a fortnight, it is almost certain that it will last at least weeks.

A third dose

The government is even considering a stricter containment. “The bans are not fully respected,” revealed Yannick Slamet. New restrictive measures could be taken in the course of next week. During its daily press conference, the local government also planned to introduce a third dose of the vaccine for people over 65. Caregivers have already started receiving the third dose.
