After two years of health crisis and collapse of the tourism industry, Caledonia has announced the launch of a recovery plan to attract foreign visitors. A return to normal activity is not expected for three or four years. Nevertheless, professionals want to attract visitors again this year. To achieve this goal, it will be necessary that the borders are reopened. We are thinking especially of New Zealand and Australia. The seven-day quarantine for those arriving in Caledonia will also have to be abolished.
The authorities in charge of tourism will, as a first step, draw up a list of tourism professionals who have gone bankrupt since the beginning of the covid crisis. This will provide Caledonia with reliable data to take action.
