New Caledonians once again shone at the Pacific Games held from November 19 to December 2, 2023. They finished top of the table with 197 medals, including 82 gold. This is better than in 2019, in Apia, where they won 182 medals, including 75 gold. 285 Caledonian athletes took part in 19 disciplines. French Polynesia came second. This had not happened since 2011.
Polynesia won 57 gold, 53 silver and 50 bronze medals. This brings the total to 160 medals.
In 2027, the Pacific Games will be held in Tahiti.
